Ashley Monroe

Ashley Monroe, a singer-songwriter of country music hailing from the United States. After releasing two singles and an album titled Satisfied in 2007 she formed the group Pistol Annies with Angaleena Presley and Miranda Lambert and released her 2nd album titled Like a Rose in 2013. Ashley Monroe is the Assistant Village Manager for the Village of Riverside Illinois and has over 15 years of experience working in the public sector, including more than five years of being Deputy City Manager in Iowa City. As Assistant Village Manager, her current responsibilities include overseeing the Community Development and Building Department as well as completing various projects. The role of Ashley at Riverside is to assist with the day-to-day operation of village services and implement the strategy laid out by the elected officials. Ashley's prior roles have included the municipal planning, budgeting for communications, personnel management and collective bargaining and concentration on climate change initiatives. Ashley's involvement in National organizations and involvement with diverse communities and populations has given her insight into the differences and commonalities between the ways in which different public institutions operate. Ashley's courses focus on modern strategies for leadership and management in the public sector through an experience professional. Her emphasis on ethical and strategic decision-making that adapts to current issues and opportunities, as well as navigating the inter-governmental and community relations gives context to aspiring and working professionals within public institutions.
